Sunday Stills

***Happy to report that this is my 50th post so far!!! ✨️ thanks for all who have come along with me!!

While cleaning out my covered porch before the pollen hits, 🤧 I was packing up odds and ends together and threw the mask my husband and I had made, on top.

It made for such a colorful arrangement that I had to take a shot! I then edited it with the colored pencil filters on my Samsung Flip phone. I love the way it turned out!

I know the masks, and the idea of being “awake” can be controversial, but that is not what is being conveyed here. Only the collection of things and its composition. 😊

Lens-Artist Challenge #241 – Spring

I haven’t been able to get outside much lately 😕, with my parents settling in, and this Ohio “grey seaon”, weather! But I managed to escape to the gym the other day and was able to capture a few signs of new life along the way~

Going out my front steps,

Down along the lane,

Brightly-colored buds and looks like a possible new tenant!

I’m not sure what they’re called, but they are beautiful little purple tree’s to me 💜

And lastly, on the way home, my Forcyntha bush saddly is thawing out from the frost last week.

Thanks for coming along! And remember, always keep something wonderful focused in your lens! ✨️ 😊

W3 #45 – My Story

Can You Spare A Square?

Can you spare a square? I’m in bathrooms everywhere

I must be a necessity, or they wouldn’t be cutting down the trees

You look for me before you dare, because I protect your derriere

Once, there was a run on me, and I became a scarcity

Hoarding cases everywhere,  no one had a square to spare.

Wordless Wednesday

Portsmouth, Ohio

It’s not a great photo, but it conveys the current mood without saying a word ~

Lens-Artist Challenge #237 Bringing Softness

This week’s Challenge has us looking for something soft, be it a soft object, something that feels soft to the touch or possibly, something that makes us feel soft inside.

I’ve selected a few images that felt soft to me. I’ve been busy with my parents moving in and trying to get settled and sadly dad is now back in the hospital.  This all makes me feel soft and mushy in so many different ways.

And so, in honor of the best Daddy, anyone could ever want, I will start where I am with mine. I will always be a daddy’s girl no matter how old I get, he always makes me feel soft with the love he has never failed to show me~

My Dad, My Hero

The colors were there in this field of weeds, but I used a lavender filter to bring the softness to life~

Lavender Fields

Looking out over my backyard on a soft hazy summer day~

The first cotton field I ever saw in person, the fresh soft natural feel of cotton on vine~

Cotton Fields, Alabama

A winter wonderland of fresh soft falling snow~

Winter Wonderland

Heading west, the soft sunset illuminates the fluffy clouds above with Love ❤️ ~

I will close with my granddaughter Evelyn Snow, or Snowbird as I call her. Her pudgy little fingers, her sleepy disheveled hair, her warm soft skin, I could cuddle and hold her in my arms forever. The softness of her innocence to me is the closest thing there is to God~

My Snowbird

Seems I may have missed the mark with this challenge as it had more to do with editing in softness and less with things or feelings that are soft. But in my defense, I guess I’m just caught up in the “feels” at this time. Anyway, thanks for stopping by! 😊

Did you get the Message?              Lens Artist Challenge #234 – Messages

Our host Donna from Wind Kisses, Here….has us looking for messages in our images this week and meanings they have for us or meanings we give to them ourselves.

I’ve tried to make sure that the images I’ve chosen have a more universal message and meaning, rather than meaning something only to me.

So tell me,….did you get the message?

These are the messages you hope to see while out hiking! You’re still going in the right direction!

Art installation by glass artist Chihuly, in Asheville, North Carolina. The message here is that man and nature can beautifully merge and mingle together, as it does here in the garden of the Biltmore Estate.

I think the message here at Boot Hill Cemetery in Tombstone, Arizona is pretty clear!        Crime does not pay!!

Love this message! ❤️

This one is so funny and it reminds me of my mom lol at 81, her sentiment exactly! 🤣

This gives “Booty Call” a whole new meaning! My daughter inlaw made this wall hanging and I think it’s perfect! Message….Mom Life!

Gone Fishing, is the message here. It can be a reminder message to slow down and relax or a message of remembrance of a loved one passed on. Either way, I love the tenderness of the image.

I happened upon this old church in the historic district of San Juan, Puerto Rico. The image shows the ultimate message of sacrifice in Christianity~

I think this message is clear 😊

This image from the Montezuma Castle in Arizona reminds us that we as a civilization have been here for thousands of years. Many have come before us and many will be here after we are gone~

Standing in my kitchen one day looking out the window, I see this message in the sky. The definition of ie, means “for example” or “in other words”, so I have the meaning of the word but I’m unsure of how it applies to me. So to this end, I will apply its meaning to my last image, the message,….in other words, Just Smile 😊

Thanks for stopping by and remember to always keep something wonderful focused in your lens! 😊

Cellpic Sunday

Only the shadow knows,

The depths it stretches from the soul

The darkness holds the secrets tight and lays in mystery like the night

It exaggerates the image cast and holds against the sunlight’s path~
